Spiral

Spiral

Becoming a faint light among the stars,
traveling alone through the vast and empty night.

A transparent heart —
illuminating the furthest reaches of darkness.

Every work carries, within it, a realization about life at the moment of its making.

Walking the farthest road, to return to where it all began —

"Spiral" is the image I most wanted to capture, after the great journey of my life.

Since childhood, I have always been moving. In the end, like the great Peng bird in Zhuangzi's Wandering in Freedom, I flew across Eurasia and landed in an unfamiliar homeland.

In 2026, my husband and I drove from Amsterdam all the way to Bulgaria, to deliver an electric bicycle to a lovely young boy.

A month later, when the end returned to the beginning, I was finally free of the urgency to rush.

Standing here, watching myself on the road, all I wanted to say was — savor the scenery of this moment.

The spiral is how energy moves — a secret the universe reveals again and again.

You can find it here, in a fingerprint, in a seashell, in a nebula.

Process

I use stainless steel wire, spiraling it again and again into waves of energy, then stretch fabric over the structure with adhesive.

When the light is turned on, a soft glow escapes through the clean, sharp lines — flowing through a boundless space and time.
